  1. Short:    Liquid MacOS X style for Workbench

  7.   This Workbench style was inspired by Apple's latest operating
  8. system - OS X . I was amazed by it's new cool aqua look , so I
  9. decided to make my Workbench look as liquid as possible.

  11.   Here included are the preferences for some programs which
  12. change the look and feel of Workbench: VisualPrefs , Birdie ,
  13. MagicMenu and TitleShadow. Their latest versions can be found on
  14. Aminet.

  17.   Requirements: High colour Workbench
  18.   ------------  + all the programs listed above
  19.                 + FullPalette (recommended, also on Aminet)

  21.                 ( 13 point screen font recommended )

  24.   Installation: First you have to install all these programs
  25.   ------------  like it says in their manuals and then change
  26.                 their preferences.

  29.   Usage :

  32.  Visual Prefs : This preferences are for VP 1.5 or higher. Copy the
  33.                 directory Liquid where ever you want , start GUI of
  34.                 VisualPrefs , open Liquid/Liquid.pre , and under
  35.                 System/Bitmaps choose Liquid. Then save the prefs.
  36.  
  37.                 NOTE: The gadgets may look weird in GUI prefs and
  38.                       the first time when you save the prefs. That's
  39.                       because most gadgets are drawn to use ONLY with
  40.                       Birdie and included textures. However, when you
  41.                       see how it looks you won't regret it.

  43.                 NOTE 2: This Liquid set is based on VP-Aqua set by
  44.                         Martin Bren. I emailed him and asked him for
  45.                         a promission to upload this changed set ,
  46.                         but as he did not answer me for some time
  47.                         I assume that it's OK to upload this to Aminet
  48.                         as long as I mention that my VP set is based on
  49.                         Mr. Bren's.

  51.  Birdie : Open Birdie prefs ( bprefs.lha , also on Aminet) , load my
  52.           Birdie prefs , for Active window pattern choose
  53.           ActiveWindow.jpg and in pattern list choose InactiveWindow.jpg.
  54.           Do NOT add any more patterns to pattern list because this set
  55.           is designed for only one pattern.

  57.  MagicMenu: This prefs files are for MagicMenu 2.35 (www.magicmenu.de).
  58.             First is MacOS 8 like prefs which has no texture or transparent
  59.             settings so I recommend it if you have a slower machine or for
  60.             256 colour screens. Second is true MacOS X setting with a genuine
  61.             menu texture and transparency set to on. However it requires a
  62.             fast gfx card ( Cybervision PPC or Voodoo 3 ) and minimum 040 to
  63.             be usable. So load this prefs file , and for backfill image
  64.             choose MenuBack.iff.

  66.             NOTE: Mac menus are about 20% transparent while MMenu's are
  67.             about 50%. That means you have to fiddle with selected
  68.             background colour if you have too dark desktop picture , but
  69.             generally it should be fine.

  71.  TitleShadow: Start TitleShadowPrefs and load my titleshadow.prefs. Here
  72.               I've lightened up the colour of the unselected window title
  73.               so now there is a greater contrast beween selected and
  74.               unselected window.

  84.  I included a dark blue texture for WB windows and a light grey texture for DOpus 5
